The current version 3.5 comes with OPC UA and much more. We’ve summarized this and everything else that has happened since version 3.2 for you here:

Version 3.3

Image Compression

The JPEG compression has been reworked and now runs noticeably faster, enabling image output even for high-speed processes. In addition, PNG reading speed has been improved, allowing programs with many reference images in PNG format to load more quickly.

LJ-X

The LJ-X8300, which was introduced in the meantime, has now also been integrated into the XG-X.

Inflection Point 2

This position detection method has already been available in the LJ-X controller for some time and has now also been added to the XG-X. It allows a inflection point on a detected line to be identified, with the detection height and movement direction of the intended detection being definable.

Version 3.4

LJ-S

The new LJ-S series from Keyence was released to the market and made available in software with this update.

Version 3.5

Communication

As mentioned at the beginning, communication via OPC UA is now also possible. As usual, everything is fully documented in the communication manual. For more details, refer to page 309 of the current communication manual.

In addition, DNS servers can now be defined globally, and in the FTP and SNTP sections, it is now possible to enter a hostname instead of an IP address.

LJ

Several new features have been added to the LJ-S that optimize image capture itself. These features are particularly useful for detecting the surfaces of semi-transparent or fully transparent materials. A typical example is glass, but adhesives and sealants also fall into this category.

The 3D blob is no longer limited to the XT series. The LJ-S and LJ-X series are now supported as well.

Image Stitching

Until now, images could be created with a maximum size of 4864 x 4864 pixels. On the XG-X2900, it is now possible to create images from up to 16 individual shots, with a maximum size of 4096 x 16,384 pixels. Perfect for line scan cameras or the LJ series!
